The laboratory laminator was designed and built for a national glue manufacturer to do lamination tests on customer’s fabrics. The laboratory would use this information to determine the adhesive needed and application methods to meet the customer’s needs. The equipment needed to include slot coating, spray, and roll coat or printing. The tension ranges were required to be between 0.1 pli to 10 pli. In order to achieve the lowest tensions possible the idlers were set up on a special system called tendency idlers. This system cancels out the bearing friction in the idlers preventing the accumulation of idler tension. This system uses the Patented Cam Chuck and wide range tension controls for the unwinds and rewinder. |
